Are you still skeptic of the title of this post? oh well if you happen to think it over deeply, you
would realise that we are all some what self- obsessed . After all there are a very few people in this world who are so altruistic as to alwayz put themselves last all the time. When i say self -obsessed i do not include selfishness ( which might be an obvious conclusion for some of us). As far as selfishness goes, i think some of it is needed for survival. It is not bad so long as it is tempered with altruism.
I thought of writing about self obsession only when i realized that not only its an addiction (mind you , a strange one) to me but a lot of men and women. Have you noticed yourself offlately spending more time in front of the mirror than you ever did? or have you been blabbering about yourself ,your latest fasion fiesta's or your trendy buys to people around you. oh Well that's not wrong untill you have people to listen to your "not so wanted" whims and fancies.
This is not something new, but it strikes greatly when you see people around you crosing the extremes of the acceptable self - obsession. This would sound strange but at time ive seen people talkin to them selves in front of the mirror, declaring them as the prince/princess of somewhere an praising and admiring themselves. huh??
I failed to understand. I still wondered that there has to be a reason to all this, these people will usually do such a thing only after they make sure there is nobody around them, an if they are caught doing something strange like this,feels guilty yeah..!! :P
Self obsession in the psychology jargons is termed as "Narcissism".!Narcissism is a psychological condition which is simply defined as a total obsession with self. This condition is characterized by a lack of empathy for others, sadistic or destructive tendencies towards other people and a compulsion to satisfy personal needs without regard for others. People who suffer from narcissism are usually introverted in social situations.(Am talking in the extreme terms now, this might not be very commonly observed)

But the fact remains, that each one of us like to be loved , and ofcourse who ekse can love us more than ourselves but us.? Id rather say, if your not self obsessed, start being one start nurturing thyself, live for your soul, like i titled this post "if your not self obsessed, u MIGHT be a little boring" :P :P
